Technoclone GmbH

Vienna, Austria (TG)

Technoclone is a SME with a longstanding expertise in development, production and marketing of diagnostic reagents in the field of coagulation, fibrinolysis and vascular biology. The company was the first, worldwide, to offer a complete set of monoclonal antibody based ELISAs in the field of fibrinolysis and a novel patented system allowing determination of activity and antigen in the same sample (Actibind(R)). In 2005/2006 Technoclone has developed and successfully marketed a fluorescence-based thrombin generation assay (TECHNOTHROMBIN(R) TGA) to discriminate patients with increased thrombin generation and in turn thrombotic tendencies. Technoclone is an ISO certified company (EN ISO 9001: 2000, EN ISO 13485:2003) with the main expertise in development, production and evaluation of assay systems suited to analyze patients at risk for vascular diseases.

Technoclone has research and production facilities for ELISA, latex, clotting, chromogenic and fluorescence based assays including cell culture, freeze drying, protein purification, monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies and recombinant proteins.

Tasks in FAD:

Technoclone tasks would be:
- to design, develop, evaluate and produce new ELISA based assays for biomarkers newly identified by other groups in the project.
- to utilize/provide/specifically adapt existing assays, such as technothrombin TGA, in populations and clinical trials
- to design, develop, evaluate and produce new assays for measurement of overall proteolytic potential in plasma using suitable, e.g. fluorogenic, substrates specifically o for measurement of the overall fibrinolytic potential o for measurement of the overall metalloprotease generating potential

Members of the FAD staff
