University Autonoma Madrid (UAM)

The cardiovascular lab at UAM has expertise in human vascular tissue and blood, animal models and cell biology. Among standard techniques, molecular biology and immunohistochemistry are commonly used. In addition, we have employed different proteomic techniques (MALDI-TOF, IMAGING-MS, etc) in the search of novel biomarkers. We have also been involved in the validation of biomarkers in large patient cohorts.

Facilities description, including patient recruitment, human vascular blood/tissue, animal facilities and cell collections, proteomic technologies (including MALDI-TOF, protein arrays, metabolomics), different microscopic analytical tools, human cell culture laboratory are available in our institution.

Tasks in FAD:

TAA and AAA clinical and biological database Adventitial inflammation in AAA; Discovery of new biomarkers through proteomic and metabolomic approaches Diagnostic applications to biomarkers and functional imaging
